S1438 Pathologist Value: Making a Difference in ACOs

Monday, September 8, 2014
2:00-4:00 PM

2.0 CME/CE Credits

This course is presented by the CAP ACO Network and features representatives of the network from a variety of practice settings where accountable care organizations (ACOs) and other coordinated care models are or will soon be in operation. With over 500 ACOs currently in operation in the US, members of the CAP ACO Network will share best practices and lessons learned based on their experiences. Faculty will also explore the challenges and opportunities pathologists have to demonstrate value, exercise leadership, and influence patient and population management within a team-based model.

You will learn to:

  • Improve integration of practice within the health care environment and delivery system
  • Establish your leadership role beyond the laboratory and into the coordinated care environment
  • Evaluate your pathology practice to identify any needed adjustments for a more team-based setting
  • Apply principles to manage patient and laboratory information and, ideally, populations
  • Affect positive change in an evolving or transformed delivery system
